  This wine packs a fragrant bouquet of cherry, earth, raspberry, alcohol, dusty mineral and vanilla. The palate was fruit forward as well with notes of cherry , vanilla,cola, raspberry that is coating but shows finesse as if this wine is peaking right now minerals balanced by fruit. The finish is big red fruit forward and sings into oak and fruit notes of cherry, dry wood, vanilla, minerals, raspberry, cola and earth along with flutters of baking spice and black licorice. All of which takes just over a minute to envelope. Wow!!! The best of California Pinot and really showcases what a powerhouse vintage this is. Peaking now!!! Perfectly aged at 54 degrees in my cellar. So surprising how well the best of 2004 are drinking.

  A polarizing wine amongst a large crowd. 45 minute decant allowed the strong medicine aroma to blow off. What remained was quite interesting (red apple skins, rhubarb, port, sherry and mint being thrown around). Some scored as high as low 90's, others thought it nearly undrinkable. Suggest you drink it very soon even if you prefer mature wines.

  This is a big wine. Popped and poured at Angelini… Took a good 45 mins to really open in the glass. Big candy, fruit. Normally I wouldn’t be into a sweetness that strong on the nose but this wine is so well put together -- just ridiculous how good it is..
