  • Day 2, the very slight South African rubbery smell has completely gone. lots of blackcurrant and bramble on the nose. The blackcurrant continues on the palate. Very good acidity nicely balanced by fine tannins that linger on the relatively short but pleasant finish. For just under £10 this is very good value - would probably improve after a year or two.

  • Supposedly tried this on day five. And boy were we impressed. Garnet red color. Pure South African nose, a little dirty, bell peppers and chalk lots of it. Moderate tannins (5) moderate body that was starting to thin a little. Black cherries, slightly dry finish, moderate finish and slightly savory too. Amazing QPR wine!

  • Consumed on another perishingly cold evening with pork escalopes, croquette potatoes and barbecue beans.

Again, difficult to be definitive due to Artic conditions in the living room but a mild mix of soft dark cherries, supermarket cassis and spilt petrol in the decanter and much the same in the mouth. At first seemed to be no tannins at all but they did break the surface later.

In all not bad and probably rather drinkable with a roast. Decent QPR but also somewhat featureless.

  • Decent hint of cassis on the nose and well integrated subtle cedar oak character, medium to full bodied, solid cassis mid palette nice slightly grippy tannins and nice dry finish. High quality authentic entry level cab. Great with roast chicken. Balance means will keep another year or two, probably will not improve much.

  • Nice med bodied with juicy simple cherry/berry fruit with a little cassis on the med/short finish. Nice little zing of acid and very mild tannin. Great summer vino served a touch cool, and would mix with variety of food...Perhaps a good weeknight pizza wine.
