  • Excellent level, perfect cork. Colour deep yellow, brilliantly clear, and lemon almost green meniscus. A friend wrote "Nose very fine and developed, rich with marmalade tones. Palate very luscious, fresh-fruit-like, beautiful, great fruit-acidity, very long aftertaste. Sensational wine and another of the great wines which JS has brought to our table." To which I'll add that I bought it in around 1980 (when it already seemed quite old) and it has matured perfectly. The wine is intense, rich without ponderous weight, and in my opinion the equal of most Yquems that I've seen, though leaning a bit more in the Germanic style. A wine I won't forget.
