  • Lovely orange/amber color. Distinct note of ripe, baked apple on the nose. There's a bit of that apple on the palate, too, along with honey, tea, and some mature flavors I can't quite place. There is a rather unusual herbal/medicinal/spice-like note that differentiates this wine from other Loire Valley moelleux I have tried. Good acidity, though not at the razor-like level of a 2002. Persistent finish. This is a pretty wine. (Note: high level of sulphur remains.)

  • Tasted at Biodynamic growers tasting NYC. Similar to '99 tasted just before this but with a more expressive nose and a little additional sweetness. Again, well made but not my style.
