Opened Jan 23, 2021. Deep richly dark purple through. Ripe plums, charred oak on the nose. Dates, figs and licorice, with hints of fennel and cumin. A decent balance of tanins and acidity. A lovely smooth finish. Decant!

Wonderfully rich. Fine sédiment and a decanting needed. Great with a medium rare steak. Dark ripe fruits, plums, blackberries, and blueberries. A delicate lingering woody finish.

Oh, Lordie, Lou! This is one of those best-with-a-medium-rare steak wines, especially when the steak has a spicy-sweet rub on it. Plum, bay and leather in the nose, more plum and sweet apple on the palate, plus a bit of blackberry, more leather and a hint of tobacco (which, by the way, I generally despise), plus mild sage, cinnamon, marjoram and bay. Obviously, this is a highly-complex wine that will likely continue to unfold for several more years. Sure glad we have a bottle left.

PNP, drank over 2 nights. Really dark color. Aromas are a bit reticent, but pleasing notes of raspberry and plum are there after some coaxing. Dark red fruit flavors. Lean in texture, but finishes smoothly. Nothing too complex, but a nice drink.

PNP. Meaty, savory style Syrah. Enough acid for backbone. Enjoyed this quite a bit.
