Decanted for 30 minutes with slight sediment. A deep dark purple color with a fruity bouquet. The medium to plus bodied palate showed an assortment of dark red and blue fruits, spice and earth. The acidity was balancing, and any tannins were completely integrated. However, after about two hours the fruit began to fade, so drink up soon!

a syrah, cab, petit verdot blend that I'm not sure Daou still produces ... this is a terrific wine that marries the greatness of Paso Cabernet and Syrah. I really enjoy this wine a great deal!

PnP, but decided to decant for 30 minutes after the wine was unresponsive. This did the trick by allowing the wine to open, as well as separating off the small amount of sediment that wasn't already stuck to the side of the bottle. This wine is a Syrah (64%)/Cab Sauv (29%) blend with a touch of Petit Verdot (7%) and presents with plenty of red and dark red fruits, spice, earth and pepper on the nose. All of these follow on to the medium to plus bodied palate along with a savory element and a touch of minerality. The acidity is strong enough to balance this weighty profile, and the finish is medium to plus. This wine is drinking really well now, and should continue to do so until at least the decade mark.

Sediment on side of bottle though none appeared in glass. Nice deep color, long legs, light black berry fruit nose when poured. Some tobacco on finish, balanced with no tannins which would drive me to drink soon.
