NSG North Virtual Tasing (Zoom / Chicago): Modestly better than what you'd expect for the vintage. Leaner with dried fruits, exotic spices and of course green herbs. Drink up.

Nuits St. Georges 1er "Northside" Tasting (Chicagoland IL): Good for a 2004, the earth and lingering fruit kept this enjoyable, with this managing to be more herbaceous than vegetal. Opening, splitting into 7 small bottles for sharing in the virtual tasting didn't help, and this wine fell off rather quickly. But I'd think an OK pop-and-pour wine.

Light brickish red. Takes about 15 mins in the glass to settle down and reveal red morello cherries, forest-floor, stems/twigs and a perfumed green herbs top note. Light to medium bodied palate shows sweet-bitter cherries, plum skin, hitn of brown spice and a perfumed spicy finish. Better than the previous bottle.

Hazy brownish ruby. An initial whiff of heavy green aromas settles down to reveal light red cherries, wet twigs and leaves, asian spices and earth. Light to medium bodied palate shows more sour and less sweet cherry compote, a dose of bitter cherry pits, good acidity, slightly drying tannins and an earthy finish.

Hazy brickish red. A whiff of green pepper that settles down to reveal sour cherry, twigs and wet leaves, brown spice and earth on the nose. Light to medium bodied on the palate showing sweet and sour cherry liqueur along with iron, earth and a whiff of inner mouth wood perfume on the finish. This 2004 is showing far worse than the VR Suchots due to the rather disjointed nose & palate.
