This still needs 90 minutes to open up and once it does the fruit is certainly still there. Lacking mid palate and finish. In prime and should hold for another 10 years.

There's plenty of smoke and spice to the aroma. It is deeply pitched on the palate with dark fruit flavours that are tinged with iron and earth. There's generosity and flesh and a finish that is savoury and long.

Strong aromas of bacon and vegetables. Some dark berry fruit and plenty of oak. Palate felt too thin for what was meant to be a good Burgundy vintage. Yes it is a good wine, and for its age it has held together well. But for its price point and supposed stature it was just not doing enough for me.

Enjoyed this bottle more than the last. Much more red fruit on the nose and palate. Fresher. Maybe lacks some depth thru the finish, considering its price point. But very enjoyable nonetheless.

The black pinot fruit is ripe and pretty, but to find it you have to wade through the brett and the oak, and this lacks stuffing. There's nothing here that says Nuits, let alone "Nuits 1er in a good year."
