The nose was interesting if restrained on day one. Out of the gate, it was borderline too thin for my tastes. On day two it's weedy and tart. Good acidity, so it might show better with the right food. But these days I do much of my eating standing up at the kitchen counter, so I'm looking for something that will stand on its own.

Great tart red berry fruit, cherry, tart raspberry, pomegranite; juicy with good extract, a bit rustic like montre cul should be but with decent length and medium high acidity. Farthest north of all Cote de Nuits Vineyards, just outside of Dijon, and its own "lieu dit" appelation without a village. An orphan if you will! Means "showing one's derriere".

Nose: musty Palate: tart cherry, gravelly, rustic, delicious, a little thin, extremely drinkable.

Affordable Red Burgundy (The Wine Country, Signal Hill, CA): $21.99. Tight nose, showing some earthy berry. On the palate, pure, light, clean, and pretty Pinot. Good flavor and depth.
