Nowhere as earthy as the 2011, this has that New Zealand soft pinot structure going on at first, with softer, darker fruit. I'm not sure it benefits this wine - the black tangy fruit works well when it is reigned back a bit and has a bit of bite on it. For now a decant is recommended, or better yet 2-3 years in the cellar. Still a good wine - but I'd seek out more crunchy vintages.

Reminds me that I don't drink enough Bourgogne! This was a great treat brought at my birthday dinner by the in laws. Thanks for sharing!

Much earthier than the Grasses Tetes not as immediately accessible today though the Boivins is usually more serious.
