No green meanies but not a lot of fun either. Almost shrill, pretty red fruit but not enough of it, without much complexity. This doesn't need more time - it never will become anything interesting.

Don't get the overt ladybug stink of many 2004 red burgs, but there are noticeable signs of the GMs. Rather thin and acidic, and slightly vegetal. Some lovely bright cherry and forest floor aromas hiding on the nose beneath the more dominant green and black pepper notes; the berry flavors become more pronounced with swirling and aeration. Much better than I remember it being in its youth, but still a poor wine by Chevillon standards. Held some for tomorrow to see if it improves, but not optimistic. Fair value for the $26 I paid.
