{cork, 14%} Garnet, but fading for age. Semi-mature nose, slightly musty and glassy, prunes dried aromas. Palate is medium weight with medium acidity, dried-petal flavours, blackberry perhaps. Rather simple and one dimensional on the palate though; dry, dusty, a bit savoury. Better with food although the hard cheese I’m eating with it isn’t really helping. Drink now.

{cork, 14%} Mostly purplish garnet, but offers quite a spectrum of colour between the core and the rim. Fairly mute nose, even after a couple of hours. A touch savoury and briney, but also ripely-fruited, with a friendly strawberry tone, slightly cherry-ish. The palate is gentle too, a mixture of sweet cranberries with an acid twist, and more mainstream sweet red fruit. Tannins are low-level and open/easy, the acid is refreshing and medium/high. It has a salty dry tang to the finish, fairly open and even a bit hollow. Decent, but does seem to promise a bit more than the finish can really deliver. Another 5 years won't hurt at all - may help the cause in fact.
