Color: Opaque RUby core with a slight hint of age at the rim. Smell: Pyrazines, earth, cedar, black berries, cassis, graphite, and hints of dark chocolate covered cherries Taste: Black cherries, cassis, cedar, leather, and hints of earth. Overall: Outstanding. Bordeaux esque...but still clearly California with restraint. Med+ fruit, Medium acidity, medium acidity, and a moderate length finish with wonderful complexity.

French Bakery BYO 1990's Cali Cab Sauv dominant wines; 12/19/2007-12/20/2007: Bonnie & Steve's wine. Very good, a close second to the 96 Rafanelli, and clearly superior to the 97 Beringer Private Reserve. I asked Steve how he came upon this vineyard, and he said he read about in Wine Spectator around 2000, and was able to get some. Was this a one shot wonder from the great 97 Vintage? Looking at other CT notes on this producer, this apparently a very good, but little known producer.

Garnet. Mellow cab nose of tobacco and asian spices. Taste was similar. Good.

medium garnet. Nose and taste was of a medium level Bordeaux, but it's from Cali. Good and very sippable.
