  • Super young and drinking really well. This has many more years left and I actually wish we'd waited to drink it. Just kept opening in the glass. Very well made. Had next to a '94 Silver Oak and this crushed it. Much more fruit and flavor and on the upswing (it's not really ready yet despite the decant for sediment and some reasonable time in the glass).

  • Still deep color - garnet. The nose is classic black current fruit, pepper and stones. This is archetype Cabernet. A bit of tobacco and cinnamon. Palate is full and balanced. Mature with some backend sweetness. Really solid. My first experience with this winery and I am very impressed. I really like the balance here. (93)

  • First vintage of the wine. Deep garnet yellowish rim. 13.7 abv. Some herbaceous green note immediately follwed by solid dried black and red fruits, earthy, leather, sweet vanilla, humus, licorice, dark chocolate, graphite, coffee, nutty. On palate it has very good mid palate concentration of sweet fruits and oak flavours mingling with complex development flavours thru the long lingering finish. All resolved tannins with moderate acidity. Drink up.

  • Decanted and drank over 2 hours. Surprisingly, did not change much over that time period. Nose of aged Bordeaux. Blue fruit based, but blackberry stands out. Full mouthfeel with the right balance of tannin and acidity. Medium+ finish.

  • -- decanted for about 10 min. before initial taste --
    -- tasted non-blind over 2 hours --

NOSE: very high-toned --- some v/a, probably; smelled young at first, but after about an hour open it developed a nice aged character (warm red/purple fruits and some leathery earthiness).

BODY: medium to medium-full bodied; hint of bricking throughout.

TASTE: oaky; licorice; dark-fruited; very faint hint of leather on the rear palate, along with a note of prunes; 13.7% alc.; the oak is prominent to the point where I wonder if the fruit is now fading, leaving the oak behind, and this should be consumed now. I have a hard time imagining this getting any better from this point forward, and I strongly suspect this is already on its downslope. Gut impression score: high 80s to low 90s. Drink now, unless you're not bothered by lots of oak.
