Very funky and brett-y when opened, which took a full night to fade. The nose never really recovered. Full bodied, with lots of black cherries and burnt baking spices, fully integrated tannins, some heat, and a medium to long finish. This was heading downhill, but still fighting.

Brown-tinged magenta. Blueberry, leather, and spice nose. Medium bodied, tart cranberries, dried cherries, baking spices, fully integrated dry tannins, mint, and a medium to long finish. Fully mature so drink up.

We love The Spaniard. This is the wine that brought us into our first wine club when we moved to California. Spicy. Just a bit sweet. Full bodied. yummy. Great with Smoked BBQ Ribs. the 2012 might be just past peak...so drink up if you've got any 2012s left.
