Interesting aromatics I guess, but hollow in the middle and bitter towards the back of the palate. Held too long, for my tastes at least, but this was probably a hot mess to being with considering the 16%, 2004, Martinelli combo. Did not finish the bottle. Few Gewurz are doing it for me recently.

This was really the only enjoyable wine out of four bottles opened. Decent amounts of spice, some okay fruit, fairly innocuous, but pleasant quaffing. (PE: 82)

This 2004 is 16% alcohol by volume. Although not detectable of the nose, it becomes overwhelmingly obvious when tasted. The floral nature of gewurztraminer is evident and when combined with some dominant juniper, this wine is really a gin cocktail. It is well balanced and a good food wine. It paired well with some spicier foods and a good dark chocolate, but is a bit too potent on its own. 3 of 5

Wow, can a gewurtz be this good. I know it is hot on the finish but amazing complex full of sweet nose and a longstanding finish.

Napa-Noma, June 2006: Peppery, flowery, rather characteristic nose of lychee. Dry, slightly bitter, but overall fruity. Pretty good.
