Aroma: citrus, vanilla and anise. Palate: citrus, bitters, green apple, high acidity, medium finish. Not very smooth or balanced but not terrible either. 85

Not bad to taste but had a weak finish that typical Cakebread Chardonnays have. I had with a spicy dish, maybe that had something to do with it. Luckily I have 2 more bottles

The more of this wine I have, the more I feel they over-oaked it just a bit. Not to the point that it's not a good wine, but just not really my style. I definitely prefer their "regular" chardonnay over this one as it seems more crisp and in balance. It also has about half the time in the barrel (8 months vs 15 I believe). There's still enough fruit here to try and balance it out; maybe some more time will help but I'm not really sure. Still have 3 more so I guess I'll find out.
