  • APPEARANCE: A light to medium pale yellow hue
AROMA: Kerosene and honeysuckle on the nose
TASTE: A heavy wine that really coats the palate. Would prefer a little more acid. Mouthfeel almost resembles a dessert wine

  • @trestle w/ LA and Sabine
    Medium yellow with some gold.
Medium intensity aromas of peach, light oxidation, possible lees, faint honey (botrytis).
Nearly dry - maybe 3-4g RS. Medium alcohol. Medium acid. Medium minus bitterness that blends with a really strong mineral aspect- almost bitter, like flat Pellegrino.

The youth of this (primary Terpenic fruit and freshness) seems to have faded, and while there is some oxidation, it hasn't acquired the savory tertiary complexities of age. Also the acid is pretty low, even for Pinot Gris, and the minerality (while important) sticks out like a sore thumb. Not the most integrated Pinot Gris.
