  • Colour: dark straw
Nose: stone fruit, crab apple, wet hay, gooseberry, passion fruit, grapefruit, quince. Fascinating and complex.
Palate: stone fruit, quinces, crap apple, wet hay. Gooseberry. Passionfruit. Mango. Citrus - lemon. Lots of chewy, grainy tannins. Fresh citrussy acid. Fleshy fruit overlying fresh acidity and lots of tannins. Very unusual, but very good.

  • Given about half an hour to breathe and warm up a bit this was a beautiful wine, with delicious fruit and a little bit of chewy tannin.

  • Blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Fiano and Muscat of Alexandria. Very unusual indeed.

So the nose on this wine is completely amazing. Like nothing I've ever smelt. So, so complex. Grapefruit, passionfruit, gooseberry, hay, wet tarmac... it's an endless chasm of beautiful scents. 98pts for the nose, no joke.

In the mouth it doesn't quite hold up to the nose, but still fabulous. Fantastic balance, subtle sweetness and surprising length.

    AUS$23

Best wine bargain ever, quite possibly.
