Red and blackberries, a little cream, some lozenge quality, a pinch of spice and a tiny touch of ashiness. On the palate it's juicy and fleshy, talc textured tannins and a touch of sourness to the fruit. Went down very well with the (standard) duck breast and puy lentils. Still primary.

Coravin fun - new arrivals (KC's place): From Coravin. Red and black fruit, spice, cream and caramel. Juicy and tangy, far more approachable in it's youth than the two 2013 1er cru I tried recently but still fairly vinfanticide to open. Balanced. Yum.

Not sure about this bottle; the nose initially had a funky almost oxidative tone reminding me of madeira with orange peel and walnut; this seemed to improve a bit to more bitter cherry and some spice, but remained pretty atypical. Not sure if this is just too young and tight or an off bottle. The palate was a bit tart, good with food, but short on its own. Will hold 1/2 the bottle and re-evaluate tomorrow.
Re-eval shows a slight improvement in the nose; the slight oxidized nose is still present, but not as prominent. The palate is still really tart and acidic, definitely needs food. I hope this was an off bottle because overall this was not impressive...
