Light body. Give this a good amount of air. Fruit is a bit thin, acidity a bit high. This may come into further balance with more time, as decanting reveals. I will wait until late 2024/2026 before opening another.

I've had luck with other village and 1er 13 of late, but this one seemed not fully open for business. Seemed to be a lot of oak not yet properly integrated. The stuffing is there but I would wait a bit.

The 2013 Mugneret Gibourg Nuits Saint Georges 1er Les Vignes Rondes is stepping into its drinking window. Textbook Mugneret Gibourg generous oaking and sweet berries. Rich and expressive already with a firm backbone. Glossy oak, fresh red berries and that aristocratic spices I sometimes get from Mugneret Gibourg. Lifted and playful, not a stubborn Nuits Saint Georges. (89/100)

Drinks effortlessly. Smooth, yet supple. Exceptionally long finish and flamboyant aromatics.

Cassis and cherries, high acidity, very fresh, mouth coating, refined wine.
