  • Nice and fruity, with a medium finish. Seems well past its prime, however, tasting a bit weak and quite flabby. (Would perhaps be 74 Points.)

  • PnP, surprised we still had this, no strong indications this was a cab, but still a nice quaffer for under $10 when purchased, drink 'em if you got 'em

  • A pleasant red berry and oak, with a lot cream, in the nose aroma and taste, with hints of vanilla and spice. Quite smooth, but somewhat flabby, with medium–full body. Some heat and tannins on the moderate-length finish. Somewhat lacking in complexity as well. Legs and taste would appear to indicate less alcohol than the labelled 14.5%. Possibly left too long, and might have been better earlier.

First attempt at using the Tasting Note Assistant:
The wine looks crimson-coloured. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis), cranberry, blackberry, mineral, vanilla, oak, clove, chocolate and diacetyl (butter). It tastes like diacetyl (butter), blackberry, black currant (cassis) and vanilla. The body is medium/full. The wine has flabby texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Tasted via Coravin, using its aerator attachment.

  • took about 45 minutes to come up to temperature and build some weight. Nose is a bit muted and the only detractor. Mouth feel is youthful with bright tannins and a nice balance between juicy and dry. Cinnamon, cardamom and baking spice on the finish.

  • This wine is really holding up well. Ready to drink soon after popping the cork with red fruit and leather on the nose. The tanins are inviting with a firm backbone that stitch this together. Medium length finigh with a bit of white pepper. Place it in the line up with a $60 cab and I bet this one will do better than most.
