  • Never had a wine from Olivier Bernstein before; opened for a birthday celebration with a friend and paired with elk tenderloin with a red wine reduction; I must say I was impressed with the overall quality of the wine. The nose was muted initially, but slowly opened over 2-3 hours to start to show lovely dark fruits, floral notes, and a hint of game. The palate was powerful and impeccably balanced. Clearly lots of fruit, but the tannin and acid support was spot on and this really delivered a lovely intense package. Still has lots of upside from here. Makes me want to explore the range a bit further though his wines are in general really quite pricey.
