As Staglin’s second wine, this really hits the spot. Dark red in glass, berries on nose and palate. This tends toward more fruit than other characteristics and is not as complex (in opposition to its bigger brother), but is still a pleasurable drink. In this case had with baked ham which it did not overwhelm.

This cab starts surprisingly sweet and with red fruits in the attack that are a little too bright at first. Almost no tannins. We did a two-hour decant. But it startled to really settle and integrate at hour three, and ended up complementing our veal chops nicely. I’d buy this wine again, as I think it surprises, changes, and appeases - and ultimately offers good value.

Good cork, decanted 1 hour. Good at first, better after another hour. Integrated tannins, fruit forward, medium to good finish. With more complexity would give a much higher score. 91

Cellar stored since acquisition. Decanted for 1 hour before drinking. Eucalyptus, white pepper, and spice on the nose. Red fruit and a little bacon on the palate with a medium finish. Tannins are present but softening, so I would say enjoy in the next 5 years.

From a 375 - tannins are soft and supple
