I have been sitting on this for more than 10 years and decided to open it as I just “won” some bottles of recent vintages of this wine at an auction. My expectations were low based on most recent reviews so was pleasantly surprised. In a great place for those who appreciate both young and aged Cabernet. Still has some primary black and blue fruits, but also notes of tobacco and leather. Resolved tannins with some residual acidity. New world wine with old world sensibilities. At this point it is enjoyable for those who favor aged wines. Will be good for another 5 years but don’t expect to get better. Wish I had a couple more to drink over next 1-2 years.

Still a powerful wine with plenty of black fruit and sweet, mostly resolved tannins. Somewhat light on acids but not flabby. Very enjoyable if not particularly complex. A wine for pleasure rather than sipping and contemplation. Drink within the next few years.

Very good drink but age is starting to work against it. Becoming a bit flabby and fruit is fading. That was my last bottle and I am glad. One point down from the previous bottle I dranked in 2014. Enjoy now.

Friend's 50th Birthday Party (Boston, MA): This was decanted for about 1 hour before I tasted from magnum. This was drinking like a fully mature Napa Cab, nicely balanced and resolved. The fruit was a bit less prominent with more leather and earth characteristics coming through. Apparently people who tasted this later in the evening felt that it had fallen apart and was passed it's prime. Give it some air but be careful not to give it too much.

Time to drink any left. Worth drinking, but past its prime.
