Showing great right now. No signs of age as this is still light straw in color with no real color variation which was expected. Bright citrus on the nose and a touch of oak. Med body and still vibrant acid. Guessed this was an Eastside Aubert initially. One of the best Shafer Chardonnay’s I’ve had in the last 10+ years especially with some age.

Wonderful bottle, opens up with blossom which soon turns into more expected notes of caramelized corn, grilled lemons, lemon-peel and very ripe, yellow apples. Broad, intense with balance and great mouthfeel and length. Excellent example of mature, sun-kissed chardonnay. Very enjoyable now and Will probably stay in this phase 3-5 years more.

This showed less balanced and more acidic early on, with lots of preserved lemon on the nose, joined by lime pith and under-ripe nectarine on the palate. I recall other bottles drinking a little better right out of the bottle, but with air the complexities did emerge...perhaps just to a lesser degree than previous bottles.

Pop n' pour. This bottle showed really nicely, with notes of citrus zest and some tropical fruit.
