Roy Hersh's tasting of CA/OR Pinot: Alluring nose, dusty cherry. Nice fruit on the entry, nice balance, very silky, still some nice structure. A bit hot on the finish?!?

At Lynmar, five vintages tasted, part of Pinot Noir Festival, third place, nose of red cherry fruit, earth, bacon, medium/big body, big brooding fruit on the mid palate with very soft tannins present, needs three years to peak, medium/long finish.

Classic California pinot, with intense candied cherry joined by hints of nutmeg, summer weeds, and tomato skin. A pretty good wine of its type, if you like this sort of thing.
