First sips upon opening, this tasted like it would be a special wine. It was reminiscent of a high-quality French Burgundy. It kind of went a different direction over time, becoming more like a California Pinot, not French. It developed a little louder characteristics than a more subtle Burgundian usually offers. So, enjoying it on California terms, it's a tasty and fulfilling wine that is aging nicely. It's drinkable now but could cellar for a little while longer. You taste the quality of the Hirsch Vineyard in this wine. That's almost my takeaway is to obtain more wines made from Hirsch Vineyard grapes. However, I don't mean this as a criticism of FEL; I would buy this again easily.

Still a fruit bomb. Reminiscent of a Meomi, and not in a good way... Will give the next one another year or two.
