Nose with oak, some cherry, spices. On palate again oak and resin, fresh with acidity, smoke. Overall disappointing with oak too dominant. Not sure whether way beyond peak or chance that it will evolve in a couple of years.

single vineyard along with Bella Vista are their only 2 single vineyards. 80 sangio, 20 merlot, only made in top years. 7 times in 20 years. Grapes go into San Lorenzo if it doesn't make the cut. Really savory, and gorgeous fruit, one of the best Chiantis I've ever had.

Some medicinal notes on the nose in a good way. Dark cherry fruit, been open three days. 80% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot, and only made in the very top years. And a touch of tobacco on the finish.

The nose showed intense cherry and spice with smoke and a slight savory and gamy note. On the palate, it was youthfully firm with tart red berry, herbs and leather strap. It finished with drying tannin restraining all but a hint of tart red fruit.

Sang/merlot blend; if any faults, merlot was too prominent, came off as too jammy
