  • Possibly just on the downside of the hill. Deep golden colour, decnted for an hour or so, beutiful oily minerality, just got better during the evening , a delight to see this fine lady in her golden years

  • Lovely light amber colour; subtle honeysuckle and citrus nose; medium bodied, good middle weight flavours, rounded, flinty, hint of tobacco and slight honeyed notes, citrus flavours, wet stones, nicely balanced acidity. Reasonable length. Weighs in at 13.5%, but is not a blockbuster. Very good. Had alongside a 2000 Vincent Girardin Chassagne Montrachet Clos de la Truffieres, which I scored one point higher, but I thought, and so did the others present, that this Puligny was the more interesting and characterful wine (terroir?), which just goes to emphasise that scores are not the whole story. Estimated maturity 2007-2010
