  • This is a wine that does not need storage. On the other hand, all Duplessis wines tackles storage well. The wine is wonderfully fresh and delicious to drink now. Lemon, lime, acid, fresh, salty sea water, flint, and seaweeds. Tackles even strong Thai dishes. The style is a bit Zind-Humbrecht from Alsace. Perhaps the best Petit Chablis currently on the market.
Domaine Duplessis was started in 1895 and now run by the 5th generation, Lilian Duplessis who took over in 2002 after his father Gérard. The family has 9 hectares of vineyards spread over different parcels in Chablis. In addition to its parcel of land in Grand cru vineyard Les Clos family has five premier cru vineyards: Montmains, Montee de Tonnerre, Fourchaume, Vaugiraut and Vaillons. All work is done organically out in the vineyards. In the wine cellar right in the heart of Chablis, in an old stone house along the river Le Serein created and stored wines have a reputation for being among the best in Chablis. Lilian Duplessis build on his father's reputation as a wine grower, has modernized somewhat, but primarily continued the good quality. Domaine Gérard Duplessis is still a small family business which may well be termed as the original Chablis. Far from the more commercial producers who in recent decades have grown in Chablis. The wines are not regarded as particularly expensive in terms of quality and perfectly suited to one of father Gérard favorite dishes, namely Norwegian smoked wild salmon, but also the perfect wine for oysters, if you do not prefer champagn. • Drinking lovely just now with a more rich, honeyed sweet character stop a fresh saline acid spine.
