  Just a shade behind my previous bottle. Showing well here at age 10, with no signs of decline in sight. This is a very well balanced cab, its terrific red and black fruit complemented by good acidity and savory elements that add interest and complexity. The tannins are still present but well rounded, leading to an enjoyable finish. Nicely done, Fred.

  In the mode of Scherrer wines in general. Not a bomb, yet true to the varietal with a nice cedar vein. Balance is the name of the game here.

  Wonderful after aerating an hour for tannins to smooth out and flavors to integrate (93), probably spectacular in a few years. One of my favorite CA Cabernet Sauvignons - better than several over extracted $$$ Napa wines. Taste with Lebanese / Mediterranean food - stuffed grape leaves, hummus, shish kawook, kibbe naye, tomato/cucumber/feta salad, grilled flatbread, Baklava ice cream.

  From 375ml. Just at the front of its drinking window. This is a fantastic showing, with rich black fruit, coffee, mineral and smoky embers on the palate. Probably the ripest Scherrer cab I can recall, but still displaying great balance and layers of flavor as it opens up with air. Really excellent.
