2nd time I have had this wine with the last time being in 2002. This has changed quite a bit and most noticeably in the color. Deep brown chocolate color. Notes of prunes and raisins. Moderate acidity. A silky and sticky sweet finish. I've had quite a few of Kracher's dessert wines from the 1998 vintage (the #3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12). Of those only the 6 and 12 were clearly better in my opinion. The rest were of comparable quality. 93 points.

Annual Friendsgiving Gathering (M/M thelostverse): Courtesy of VM, pouring a deep maple syrup color. Candied apricot and stone fruit on the nose and palate. A bit more straightforward than I remember. Still very enjoyable but I was hoping for a bit more nuance to this. 92+ pts.

In memory of my great friend Jakub who was buried today. He loved these wines. I can see why.

Kracher and Roumier Dinner with Gerhard Kracher (Brasserie Margeaux - Chicago IL): Baked figs and dates with apple pie and quince paste. Good balance with a bright finish. Aging slowly and gracefully.
