Only Sauvignon I purchase regularly is Paul et Francois Cotat. Clearly I've been missing out as this Austrian Sauvignon is wonderful. Restrained nose, with a hint of lychee on the second night. Otherwise a beautifully balanced bottle with acid drive, mineral backbone and none of the overly grassy/gooseberry elements of many Euro SBs nor the tropical fruit aspects of CA SBs. Will purchase again.
Tasted with mr_mando and friends: nose with strong mango, some strawberry, common nettle, elderflower; on the palate very fruity, complex, well structured and fine balance of fruit and acidity; long fruity finish. One of the best Styrian Sauvignon Blancs.

Austrian wines - Schiefer & Tement: Much grassier and more saline notes than the Klassik. Very good intensity, lots of spice, chalk, salt and minerals on a base of ripe peach fruit. Impressive depth and vibrancy.

Halbflasche.
Sehr blasses Heugelb. Nase nach Stachelbeeren, Honigmelone, Ananas.
Auch am Gaumen Melone, toller Säurebogen, bestechende Mineralität.

Bell pepper, flowers, crushed stones, and some stone fruit on the nose. Medium+ acidity with citrus notes and apricot on the palate. Good finish.
