At this point, the 1997 Limerick Lane zin fits into the category of Aged wine. I would not have recognized it as a zinfandel if I had drunk it blind. That said, it does not taste "over the hill". Rather, the notes were very much those of a complex, mature wine. We drank it over two nights, and the bottle received high praise during both dinners. Have a decanter handy, as the cork is very easy to break.

This is a wonderful, well made jar of jam. Collins vineyard fruit in good hands. Here's hoping the new owners are as successful.
