Opened up after about an hour. Great flavors came forward and really enjoyed this with a beef tenderloin. Had some strength to go with the beef but soft enough with a sip on its own. Enjoyed this one as one of my top vintages of this. Have had one from 2005 to 2013.

A: opaque deep purple N: pronounced, black cherry, black liqueur, kirsch, tomato leaf, slightly herbaceous and meaty, cured meat, smoked bacon, cedar and baking spices P: pronounced, cassis, blackberry, black cherry, spicy and herbaceous, tomato leaf, black currant leaf, bell pepper, licorice, baking spice, clove, meaty, savory
Firm med+ tannins, dry, med+ acid, long finish. Not very smooth and tannins are not fully integrated yet, still too harsh and a little astringent. Needs more time to balance. 90-92 potential

Not that much there. Green pepper flavors are unattractive. Not much complexity. Too basic a wine for the money. Awful PQR.

Hitting all the marks. It could eek out a little more but enjoy now!
