75% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon 13.5% abv
Medium body, deep crimson to purple colour. Elegant black and blue fruits aroma, leather, smoky oak and spices. On the palate plum, blueberry and blackberry, lovely acidity and grippy tannins following by dark chocolate and black olives on rounding finish of good length. Complex, bold and silky but still fresh and juicy, well balanced. Food friendly, well pairing to grilled duck stuffed with apples. Serve 16ºC - 18ºC. Open one hour ahead. Drink now and next 5/6 years.

One of the many St.Emilion estates with Corbin in their name, all located in the region close to Pomerol, with mixed soils of gravel, sand and ferruginous clay. Approx. 75% Merlot and for the rest Cabernet Franc and a tiny bit of Cabernet Sauvignon. A nice deep, still young color. On the nose and palate slightly rustic with tobacco, cedar, not fully ripe red berries and ditto tannins. Not a bad wine but the mid-palate is slightly hollow and the wine lacks ripe fruit, charm and generosity, while the acidity is quite dominant. Perhaps this can become a bit more civilized with ageing, but I have my doubts.

Earthy, pungent nose of dark fruit, leather, tobacco, cedar chest, cassis, mint, and sage, pleasant, balanced palate of plum and blackberry jam, with notes of dark chocolate, cassis, mushroom, black olive, and dried herbs, firm, leathery tannins, lengthy finish.

It took at least 1:30 to 2h to open up. Will try another bottle in a year or two
