Surprisingly good because I was not thrilled with our last bottle. Probably because it is a blend, but absolutely no sign of any weakness relative to other 2011 vintages from Napa. Tasted fine upon opening, but continued to smooth out over the next hour. Very balanced. Not overpowering, but had a nice finish

I remember liking it better at the Freemark tasting room, but it was still very good. Much more bolder than I remember. It is stronger than most blends. Actually, a pretty good choice of wine at a restaurant table with a broad array of foods--ours ranged from pasta to steak. It was fine to drink straight after opening. Did not change much over the next hour.

Medium garnet and a bit opaque in color. Medium bodied, medium legs. Fruity and a bit floral on the nose. Cherry, plum, cassis on the front palate. Mid palate, the wine reveals more vegetal notes with clove and pepper on the palate. Medium finish. A very interesting blend. As someone who has been drinking Freemark since the late 80's, this is readily identifiable. The bright red fruit reminiscent of Sycamore. The clove, spice and eucalyptus evident in Bosche, a touch of Rutherford dust. Nice.

2011 is turning out to be a much better vintage than the Parker rating. If you like Bordeaux in a semi ripe year, this is what selective Napa producers were able to deliver.
This wine has a dark garnet core with a crimson rim that opens up with Dark cherries, red currants, hints of green pepper, cedar, and hints of sweet vanilla. The pallate hits you with nice red fruit, plums up front that transition to herbal notes with hint of tobacco and leather followed by great acidity (tipical Ted Edwards) and round, dusty Rutherford tannins. Better than expected; drinking grat now but can last another 10 years.
