Lungarotti San Giorgio vertical (AIS, Rome): Fully garnet, totally oxidized-looking. Very intense bouquet of cooked fruits, sherry/port/Madeira, old and balsamic. On palate, acidic and salty. Very weak in body. Way past its prime. Those with the “gout anglais” kinda liked it (well, didn’t hate it).

Clean and bright nose, with the fresh fruit of the Cabernet, but also a slightly overripe note, spicy and warm; stylish and elegant, has sève and extract, tannic backbone; good length. Just past best.
