  This wine is really in its stride now. glad that Marcus and Megan offer these at late releases sometimes, because it encourages me to hold on to my Goodfellow wines knowing even the simplest wines can be like this with time!

  Light color with some bricks notes that show the 10 year age, unfortunately the nose and flavor were dominated by sharp, underripe cherry. I still drank the bottle - so not too bad - but the high acid wasn’t to my taste and there wasn’t a ton of complexity here. Would probably benefit from more air and I’ll try decanting the next bottle.

  Medium ruby, garnet with a red plum nose that wafts across the room when give a little air. Bright red berry, nice acid with some drying tannins, some calcite mineral, leather and forest, balsam and pine notes. Drinking great now with some open time and will only get better. 88 for starters on opening. Two nights later, I left the bottle upstairs after dinner, only a half glass left. Medium light ruby, some ripe strawberry, pie cherry nose, tart red berry with a little ripe prune note. Nice acid, restrained fruit, stone fruit tanniins giving a balanced AFWE old world style. It still needs some time to smooth a few rough edges and will only get better. Great potential with more age.

  Popped and let sit in the glass for about 30 minutes. Don't drink much Oregon pinot (or pinot at all for that matter), but was extremely impressed with this bottle. Very light red in color which had me intrigued for some reason. Beautiful nose of cranberry, rose, and bits of rubbed earth. Light in weight on the palate but not in impact as your mouth was filled with wonderful huckleberry, cola, red cherry, and herbs. If this is the entry level wine from Goodfellow, I can't imagine how fantastic the single vineyards bottlings must be. At $23, this is a real buy for me and that's from someone who isn't a dude that drinks much pinot because of the poor QPR most of the time. 91pts.
