This inexpensive claret is truly enjoyable. The color is medium-plus and the bouquet is red fruit, berries and a hint of smoke. The wine has a nice structure of tannins with quite a bit of concentration. There is also a nice touch of earth and dust. This offers a lot of taste for about $8. It is a great house claret.

Being from Blaye, and mostly a Merlot base wine, in comparison to another style, namely most of the Bordeaux Superior we have been tasting lately, this one is a little more mellow. Still pretty sharp black cherry fruit. Medium plus bodied. Silky little tannins. Black cherry fruit with a broad range of earthy, barky, charcoal flavors. Nice balancing acidity. With a little more concentration this one could score several more points.

Nice Bordeau with good level of complexity. A bit short on finale with too much vanilla notes for my taste but still very enjoyable.

Very good. I like the finish. Good everyday wine.
