  Guldfärg. Fin mousse. Syran intakt. Citrus komplexa fruktaromer på näsan. Lätta toner av kola som kvitto på ålder. Utmärkt. (Inte minst till dagens pairing - anklever och fikonmarmelad.)

  In a great place now. Drunk over 2 days, paired with pasta, eggs with mushrooms, and scallops. Notes of brioche @nd lemon curd on the nose. Palate is expressive, with a wonderful salinity balancing the rich breads flavor with hints of apple and lemon. Long finish and pairs beautifully with salty food.

  Neb Vinous Blind 1989 Barolo & Barbaresco Dinner (Buona Notte, NYC): Big yeasty nose and mouth. Delicious and complex.

  Medium dark yellow-gold, intense heady nose at first, bread dough, perfectly ripe yellow apple, pear, quince; chalky minerality with a hint of steeliness. Super fine bubbles, great intensity, good acidity but not aggressive and not too much despite the fact this is just a gram or 2 dosage. Aged in Austrian barrels, biodynamic, native yeasts, from two "chemin" vineyards in Avize. Great with homemade fried chicken.

  1998 Barolo and Barbaresco Retrospective; 3/24/2018-3/31/2018 (Ai Fiori): stunning purity, bright citrus, lots of depth in mid, mineral and stone, long, mid is lemon curd ...loved it - but as it was a "starter" to a giant tasting - i could only wish i had given it more time. excellent
