Revisiting Graves (Vinexpo, Bordeaux): A mild disappointment here. The overall sense of this barrel sample is ho-hum. I get some fruit driven notes, the acidity is there, but as if in a rather low key, and there is a certain steely austerity. Well, let's see from bottle. Would pair well with oysters.

Amsterdam UGCB Tasting and Winemakers' Dinner (Beurs van Berlage / Café De Klepel): Magnum. Slightly more mature than the 2016 of course, but by no means outshone by that later vintage. Fresh, mineral and intense. With climate change, we will learn to value the cooler vintages eventually.
