  • Supposedly past its best but quite drinkable still I found. Sweeter than I'm used to in a Sauvignon but a nice change.

  • Strong grapefruit nose, nice searing tropical fruit palate.

  • Always a really nice SB. Almost full bodied. Perfectly ripe fruit. Delicious tropicality with savory edges and refreshing acidity. There`s a good amount of citrusy notes hovering also above everything. Long long mineral and honeyd a finish. Awesome summer wine!!

  • Tasted Feb 2016. Well chilled. Screw cap.
The 'Stich' fruit is from Jackson Estate's Homestead vineyard, planted 1989.

2014 in Marlborough reported as good as, if not better than, 2013. I liked this Sav Blanc very much. I tasted the 2013 at the annual London NZ show, and this '14 is better. It is in (my favoured) 'big' rich soft lush tropical style, not a green edgy Marl SB. Mind you, it has plenty of balancing acid to clean up all those melons/white stone fruit/passionfruit, though it doesn't scream ''cellar me.'' It's drinking v well now, why bother? Keep until 2018 only, I'd say. Good length. An all-nighter drinking style, not necc' a Foodie style. Body is medium-heavy. Some wet river stone flavours, some minerals. One of better Marlb' SBs I have had.

Colour is pale, not much at all. Nose is soft white fruits, hint of citrus, not intense at all.

VFM? At around £18.00 it is expensive for a NZ Sav Blanc, but I'd say it's worth every penny. Will buy again.
