Perrot Minot Chambertin & Clos de Beze dinner: (A) A different profile here from the '16 pair. Ocean air, blackberries and a hint of flowers on the nose. It was silky and clean with a touch of warmth. Slightly more polished and concentrated than the Clos de Beze.

Rich yet fresh kaleidoscopic nose, with vanilla, menthol and gingerbread. Bitter, stony and mineral on the palate, extremely classy, full of intensity and juicy fruit. Kept building towards a persistent spicy finish. Silky tannins. Everything in place, then, but this didn't wow or move me (at least at this stage of its evolution).

This Chambertin is still very young. Damoy fruit but still so polished with a hint of raw power. Amazinfg nose, color to die for and finish like ironfist in a velvet glove.

Monday Cellar Visits in Burgundy - Clos de Tart, Lambrays, Bonneau du Martray and Perrot-Minot (Cote d'Or): Tasting at the domaine. Black fruit again, with even greater concentration than Chambertin-Clos de Beze. Less spice or nuance, less finesse, but very powerful. Also from Damoy fruit. Very good+ 93-95 point potential. This will take more time to integrate and show its full potential than the Beze.
