Mid straw. Ripe, slightly tropical nose, the Viognier element to the fore but tempered somewhat by the Chenin; the SB now creamy and rounded. Some richness but dry on the attack, and through the moderately long finish. This has lost a little grip and exuberance cf bottles from the top half of the case five years ago — current,y lacking a little energy and verve. Remains interesting though, and very drinkable. ***
Edit: revisiting the open bottle after three days and it’s improved significantly. I think it must have been in a slightly dumb phase and just needed some extended airing to open up. Far more energy and bite on the mid palate with real mineral grip. ***1/2

J&VB with RIBBS (Brunswick House): Similarly fun and interesting as the last bottle. Full and ripe nose with clearly definable top notes of Viognier and Sauv Blanc against the more baritone Chenin. Lots of chewy texture. Interesting wine, serious but with a definite fun side. ***1/2

really quite interesting. Grippy minerality with a touch of floral viognier lift. The Viognier gives it a slightly exuberant exotic edge, but there's a core of finely textured, slightly chewy dry chenin. On day two this has calmed down and the viognier effect has gone leaving a less challenging but also less interesting glass. Good. ***1/2

Las Vino CBDB, Margaret River Australia 2013 - powerfull nose of white fruits, lanolin, stony fruit, impressively freshness. Great balanced and harmonious palate, high acidity, chenin fatness, oily body and a superb classy finish. Top Chenin Blanc.

Mainly Pinot — work folk tasting/social (Home): As previous bottles, fun and interesting. Lovely Chenin with Viognier and Sauvignon top notes. Went down well. ***1/2
