  Bought upon release. Lemon, lime, grapefruit, apple, peach, wheat, basil, oregano, light vanilla, a touch of spice, and intense minerality, with great acidity and impressive length. Medium-bodied, with great complexity, good concentration, and great persistence. Wow, quite impressive! And not just another Riesling, notably differentiates itself from others in its combination of intense minerality, light herbal notes, and very discrete oak. I liked it a lot!

  In der Nase durchaus reduktiv, das legt sich aber recht zügig. Dann aromatisch extrem verhalten mit Andeutungen von grünem Zitrus, etwas hellem Steinobst, hellen Blüten. Dazu etwas Petrol, etwas Rauch. Das Scholz nehme ich nun sehr zurückhaltend wahr.
  
  Am Gaumen mit sehr gutem Säurezug und unheimlich animierender und strukturierender dunkler Mineralik. Auchbhier aromatisch sehr verhalten, das ist im Moment ein reiner Strukturwein. Das kann er aber unheimlich gut, es ist auch deutlich pikant und auch etwas salzig.
  
  Sehr lang, das bleibt hängen.
  
  
  Der Wein scheint sich wieder zu finden, braucht im Moment unheimlich viel Luft und ich hatte heute weder Lust auf eine Karaffe noch auf ewig langes Warten.
  
  WVL für die letzte Flasche in 2+ Jahren und dann wird belüftet bis der Arzt kommt.

  Needs 2 hrs of air!

  Tag 1: Gezeichnet von schwefliger Reduktion und Popcorn. Dazu etwas zitrisch und auch dunkelsteinig, minimal exotisch, und etwas Steinobst. Am Gaumen ebenfalls gezeichnet wie oben, fast scharf-schweflig. Hier mit ebenfalls deutlichem Popcorn, das komplett alles überlagert und auch lang bleibt. Länge hat’s durchaus, die ist aber deutlich extrakt- und vor allem holzkaramellig.
  
  Tag 2: Nun nur noch verhalten Reduktiv und mit deutlich besser eingebundenem Holz. In der Nase nun noch etwas Schuhcreme (typisches Riesling-Petrol), dazu auch deutlicher zitrisch und hell-floral, daneben aber auch deutlich dunkel und steinig. Tatsächlich ein sehr spannender Kontrast.
  Am Gaumen deutlich harmonischer, knochentrocken und mit sehr viel Extrakt und Säurezug. Hier auch deutlich dunkelmineralisch.
  Immer noch sehr überzeugende Länge.
  
  Ist insgesamt momentan nicht mein Wein und scheint in einer schwierigen Phase. Wiedervorlage in 2 Jahren.

  I’m having another glass of this two days after I originally opened it, and I continue to enjoy this. I’m now getting some slate and minerality on the nose and tart white fruits (apple?) on the palate. Given how well it’s showing two days after opening, I am even more convinced that this wine has a lot of potential for favorable evolution with more time bottle.
