  • Last of the line (4/4)… and perhaps the best. blueberries and red cherry fruit. Forward aromatics, lovely balance, good finish. Everything in its place.

  • Consistent with my impression of a year ago. Delicious, open, mix of blueberry transitioning to red-fruited cherry. Pliant, yet still has backbone. Excellent.

  • Not surprisingly it has improved! Bright blueberry and medium red cherry fruit jumps from the bottle. But there’s a nice, slightly sneaky build behind the freshness. Some tartness, yes. But good length and depth to last for some years yet. To watch. 93+

  • Tartish red and black fruit on opening, with a salty-savory medium tannic grip that bodes well for development.
With airtime, dark berry fruit comes to the fore. Very good now, and I see upside with time. It will be interesting to try another bottle in a few years. An excellent food wine, we had it with wine-braised chicken and mushrooms, but this would play well with grilled salmon, duck or wild game.
Side note: I think Gananda’s recent eloquent notes are right on-the-nose.

  • Prior bottle was almost nine months ago and as well as that bottle showed, this one surpassed it. I had no choice but to increase my score accordingly. Mixture of black and red cherry on the nose along with floral and earth notes; even more aromatic than my prior bottle. Medium bodied with a similar flavor profile to my prior bottle: red cherry with higher toned red berries upfront, adding black cherry and darker blackfruit notes through the middle. Tart red cherry, integrated tannins and balanced spice notes provided the structure and contrast. Where this wine excelled were (i) mid body - simply beautiful fruit expression, silky and full of nuance, (ii) overall balance - improved from my prior bottle and (iii) integration - also improved from my prior bottle such that each component seemed to mesh neatly into the other and amplified all the positive qualities. This was open for almost 3 hours ahead of time which certainly helped it show its best and also shows how much life remains. Quite impressed with how this wine has evolved over the past few years and pleased that my final bottle could show this beautifully.
