  • Still in a great spot , yellow golden color, nose of tropical fruits, Mediterranean forest , balanced with still a nice acidity

  • Excellent. Delicate passion fruit and mango aromas on nose and palate.

  • This is a fresh wine, still a bit too young, but those apricotty smells and tastes are coming through. Also has the minerality to be expected from a Posip from Korcula. Quite a full-bodied wine, very good now and will certainly get better with a couple of years on it!

  • Intense yellow color with some green highlights. Lovely nose full of depth, richness and yellow fruits typical of the variety: ripe apricot, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, some fresh pear nuances and a hint of apple jam. Underneath, notes of creaminess and a touch of old wood. Rich and full-bodied in the mouth - like most Croatian whites tend to be - but with lovely freshness and structure, not so typical of Pošip. Flavors of ripe apple, pear, starfruit, some honeydew melon, a little apple jam and a hint of grassy greenness. Some complex hints of hay, almonds and some cream in the background. Lively acidity is pronounced as long as the wine is cool, but the wine gets more soft and heavy as it warms - I'd suggest keeping the wine cool throughout the serving. Fresh and nicely acid-driven finish with flavors of fresh apple, some pear peel, a little star fruit and a touch of saline minerality. Long, fresh and fruity aftertaste.

I was expecting a heavier, more "Californian" expression, but I was positively surprised by the freshness and structure of this wine - most of the Pošips I've had have been a lot heavier, flabbier and less structured than this one. I was also positively surprised by the modest and elegant use of the oak, as these characteristics were not that obvious in the final wine, but only contributing to the depth and complexity of the flavor profile. Very recommended - only if you manage to get ahold of this wine after the winery was badly damaged by the wildfires of Pelješac in the summer of 2015 - and worth its price at 21,10€.
