Enjoyed this more than the 2012. More brambly red and black fruit up front. Interesting depth on the back end with notes of anise and vanilla. Still lots of oak, well integrated tannins. Velvety mouthfeel. Tannins provide plenty of structure.

A bold nose of dark fruits and spices, dark garnet in color. A full bodied red blend, with black cherry, blueberry, smoky, with licorice and spices on long finish. Good every year, one of the best Zin blends made. www.winelx.com

Wow! My cousin and her husband were in town, sooo, we opened, not one, but two bottles! (His favorite wine, md he’s a beer guy). Just an amazing Paso zin heavy blend from one of the great wine makers, Matt Trevisan. This wine is in its prime and can stand up to a ton of great food. We took it to dinner, and it stood up to Ossining Bucco, Pasta Carbonara, and a Fillet Mignon.
